Welcoming Coach Burnett as the next head coach of the girls basketball program!

St. Maria Goretti Catholic High School is pleased to announce that Charles ‘Sleepy’ Burnett will be the next head coach of the girls basketball program.

Coach Burnett has extensive coaching experience at the youth, high school and college levels. Most recently he was an assistant women's coach at Hagerstown Community College. He got his start at the high school level as an assistant coach for the girls and boys programs at South Hagerstown High School. He was the girls varsity head coach at Smithsburg High School for three years and took his team to a State runner-up finish during the 2018-2019 season.

A graduate of South Hagerstown High School, Coach Burnett has been employed with the State of Maryland for the past 25 years.
