Athletic Director News

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of one of our most valued employees, Athletic Director David Blenckstone. Although we are sad to see him go, we wish him great success in his future endeavors!

Since joining the team in March of 2010, David has played an integral role in our Goretti Family over the years. David has not only fulfilled the role of Athletic Director but has also served as boys lacrosse Head Coach, JV boys basketball Head Coach, as well as the current girls lacrosse Head Coach. Along with his coaching accomplishments, each fall he dedicated additional time towards managing our Cokey Robertson Annual Golf Tournament, the Mid Atlantic Invitational Tournament, and the Lady Gael Classic.

My children had many great teachers, coaches, and mentors at Goretti and my wife and I are grateful for the amazing high school experience they had. I will remain the Gaels biggest fan and look forward to seeing the school grow and prosper in the future.”

David’s tenure will end at the start of Easter vacation, he will coach his final lacrosse game on April 4. Assistant Coach Victoria Baker and Goretti girls soccer Head Coach Terri Mutchler will coach the team for the remainder of the season.

Congratulations David, you will be dearly missed!
