The Goretti Gaels Boys Basketball team is now 13-3 overall with a 4-0 mark in the Baltimore Catholic League (BCL) as they beat Mt. St. Joseph, a team previously undefeated and number 1 ranked by the Baltimore Sun, Wednesday 63-62 by a buzzer beater 3-pointer by senior Elijah Clarance. MSJ is also ranked #19 in the country by MaxPreps.

With 2:52 left in the game, Clarence’s 3-pointer closed the gap with Goretti down by 3. With 14 seconds left, he closed the gap even farther, making it 61-60. On defense, Goretti kept Mt. St. Joe’s Maryland committed Darryl Morsell to 8 points.

Mount St. Joseph missed the second of two free shots and with 9 seconds to go senior forward Jake Kuhn won the rebound, giving the ball to Clarance.  Clarance then took his step-back 3-pointer at the buzzer for the victory.
