“Faith makes us open to the quiet presence of God at every moment of our lives, in every person and in every situation.” – Pope Francis
Goretti students had the opportunity recently to honor Pope Francis’ visit to the U.S. by holding a Feet for Francis shoe collection and raising awareness throughout the school and community about the Pope’s message of love, faith, and kindness. Students drew messages on the sidewalks around the school campus about Feet for Francis, and hung posters about some of the issues important to the Pope such as protecting the environment, preserving the family unit, and protecting refugees.
Religion classes showed live coverage of the Pope’s visit, and students in those classes wrote letters to U.S. servicemen and women to celebrate the Pope’s call to serve others. The school set up a TV in the main school lobby where all students could see coverage of the visit throughout the week.
