St. Maria Goretti High School and the Cumberland Valley School of Music will present Annie as the school’s spring musical. The classic production tells the story of Annie, a young orphan in 1933, the tribulations she encounters, and ultimately how her indomitable optimism triumphs in the face of adversity.
Goretti freshman Clara Geesaman will portray Annie, and Annie’s faithful four-legged companion, Sandy, will be played by Dozer, a retriever mix. Both Dozer and understudy, Kennygirl, are part of the Franklin County Veteran Affairs Operation Save-a-Vet, Save-a-Pet program, which partners with Good Dog Training School.
Additionla cast leads include senior Cody Boushey as Oliver Warbucks, senior Erica Worrell as Miss Hannigan, and the orphans portrayed by senior Sarah Szukalski, senior Mikayla Hearne, freshman Elena Della Mea, sophomore Fabiana Nogales, freshman Therese Martin, and junior Dahlia Nogales.
Close to 25 percent of the Goretti student body will be involved in the production as cast and crew members.
