Students at St. Maria Goretti High School were greeted by a special visitor on their first day of school – the Archbishop William E. Lori. The Archbishop shook hands and offered words of encouragement to students as they arrived at Goretti on Tuesday. School president Richard Fairley and the student government association officers led the Archbishop along with the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s school superintendent, Dr. Barbara McGraw Edmondson and director of communications, Sean Caine, on a tour of Goretti that was followed by an assembly in the school’s gymnasium. During the assembly, the Archbishop welcomed the entire student body with a blessing for the school year. The entire Goretti community would like to extend our thanks to the Archbishop for taking time to visit us during his trip to Western Maryland!
