Preview of life on campus

Student Life

The campus, located in northern Hagerstown, is composed of the main school building, a courtyard, the Gael Center (gymnasium), a Media Library Center (MLC), and athletic fields. Located in the main school building are classrooms, science labs, offices, faculty rooms and the cafeteria. The art and music rooms are located at the rear of the Gael Center, and additional classroom and office space, including the school’s computer lab, is located in the MLC building.

Goretti’s growing and competitive athletic program includes: Boys & Girls Soccer, Basketball, and Lacrosse, Boys Baseball, Girls Volleyball, Softball, and Cheerleading, and Co-ed Golf, Tennis, Cross Country, Track, and Swimming. Athletic fields for soccer and baseball are located in the north quadrant of the school campus.

Fine Arts & Drama Productions

At St. Maria Goretti High School, we appreciate and emphasize the importance of fine arts in a young person’s education. We offer creative, visual arts courses including digital photography, 2-D and 3-D design, drawing, ceramics, and introduction to music, among others. We have a thriving performing arts program that involves the school’s drama club and thespian troupe performing a fall and spring production. We also have an after-school Improv club.

Community Service

St. Maria Goretti takes seriously our commitment to educate students to be responsible citizens, leaders, and active participants in the faith. To this end, each student is required to perform 25 hours of community service for each year they attend the school. Our students participate in service days throughout the year that involve them helping various local non-profits and community organizations.
