Kendall Jones hit a game-winning 3-pointer as Goretti edged Northern Bedford 50-49. Sirri Akaya finished with 18 points for the Gaels, while Arielle Jean-Jacques scored 15 in the win.

Goretti (6-6) then defeated Bishop Walsh 67-47, led by Paige Demory with 16 points and Claire Hahn with 11.

“St. Maria Goretti defeated Bishop Walsh 67-32 on Saturday to win the 15th Lady Gael Classic.

The win gave the Gaels (2-0) back-to-back titles and their fifth overall.

Arielle Jean-Jacques scored 26 points and was named most outstanding player of the tournament. Sirri Akaya was named most valuable player, and Paige Demory was named to the all-tournament team.”
