2014 Distinguished Alumnus Award Recipients:

This year, Goretti recognized two alumni from the school as the recipients of Goretti’s Distinguished Alumnus Award: Sr. Corda Mullenix, S.S.N.D. of Hagerstown and John McCoy of New York. Both were recognized at the school’s 2014 graduation ceremony last May for their dedication to Goretti over the years and for serving as role models for current students.

Sr. Corda is a 1944 graduate of St. Mary Catholic High School, which later became St. Maria Goretti High School when the school moved from downtown Hagerstown to its current location on Oak Hill Avenue in 1954. She is a member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame and was a teacher at Goretti from the mid-1970s to the late 1980s. She resides at the St. Mary Catholic Church convent.

John McCoy is a 1964 graduate of Goretti whose career in fashion began at Ingram’s Mens Shop in Hagerstown when he was in high school. He then graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City in the late 1960s. He is currently the owner of Components by John McCoy, a high-end domestic and international menswear distributor.
